awesome leather work there! May I ask how you did it? (Just brief points no secret patterns or anything) Is it tooled and sculpted? If so did you do the tooling on a block while the sculpting was forming or after?? (I am trying to do a leather bear face on a softy body so I am curious as to what order to do things)
Really? I did not know you could still buy spike's that big. Yea,they may well be.Damn,a leather store you say.....I may just have to pay one of them a visit soon! I could use some "New flair" in my wardrobe!
This looks really cool. Did you do any tooling on this, or is it just shaped and painted to create the scales? Either way, I really like it.
I'm working on a leather dragon mask of my own, but since this is my first time working with leather, and since I'm making such slow progress on it, I don't know if I'll have anything to show for it for a while.
This is just too cool, you've done a fantastic job. It reminds me a lot of the dragon heads I have. They are skulls with leather over them to form dragon heads and I love them so no wonder I love this mask of yours. Leather art is so beautiful.^^
You are very welcome They are one of a kind >w< My folks know the man who makes them here in Australia. I don't know if he still does his leather art let alone sells them online/has a website. I had a search around online for any works resembling this guys but I think he stopped unfortunately. I think my family has around seven pieces, one including a black sun-like piece made from leather, fur and a cow pelvis. We call him Mr Happy Sun and he creeps everyone out who visits haha He also has denches xP. I have three of the dragons in my bedroom xP Since I couldn't find any of the dragon skulls online, I took photos of my favourite one who has been dubbed Medusa. If you like I can send you a compilation of the photos to your email so you can use Medusa as inspiration for your future leather art?
That's impressive! The scales look great, too. Any chance of getting a modeled photo that brings out the glowing parts..? I've been toying with the idea of making something of this size, but haven't got around to it yet.
