Fluffy creature by zarathus Fluffy creature by zarathus
A thing I made over the last few days while sick and generally failing to do anything more productive. My first time using fur since I was maybe 12, so I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing.
It is posable, and the jaw can also open and close. It's about 50cm long.
I might try to do some more of these though I probably won't do the moving jaw again. Maybe will do commissions if anyone is interested, once I get a better idea of what I'm doing.

What d'you use to sculpt your doll creatures' faces and feet, all latex like your other great works?

Or d'you perhaps have a FAQ that lists what materials you typically use?

Seriously, you do wonderful traditional work, I like them better than your digital pieces :3

He's so fluffy! This is inspiring. What did you use inside the fluffy part? Is he hard or plushy? Also, you're from auckland, right? Where do you pick up your sculpy (that's the white stuff that goes super hard super fast isn't it?) and can you get the pink stuff that sort of stays malleable forever but holds it's shape quite decently there too? I feel stupid for not knowing the names of them, but when we were doing the sculpting part of my course my teacher just called it 'the clay stuff', which wasn't very helpful. Did you build him over a wireframe? And do you get fur from Centrepoint or spotlight? Sorry for the deluge of questions... :p

Poseable dolls are wicked and yours is no exception! I love the furry legs and the way you sculpted the feet. The tail is super pretty and cute, so fluffy and I love that it vaguely reminds me of a skunk with those colours. The face is also beautiful, excellent detailing and I really like the opening jaw idea and while I am sure it was frustrating to make, I think you should keep doing it when you make more as it is such a fun idea. :blackrose:

Well I think it looks wonderful =]
You did a good job with the fur imo - really! I really like those white rings on the tail and how the fur at the tip just sticks out in all directions lol.
I think it would be neat as an extra touch to add just a bit of fur to the face somehow. But really, it looks great. Love it! ^_^

I'll experiment with future ones I think. Maybe try flocking on the faces so its semi-soft to touch.
Thank you very much! I used wig hair for the tail tip so its super floofy.

That's pure concentrated awesome right there. I love the fact the feet and the head are a different material and give a nice contrast to the fluffy body. Talking about fluffy.. DAT TAIL. SO FLUFFY.

Looking forward to seeing more crafts such as these from you!
